Can I still make a living as a screen printer?

Yes, in the right seat: skilled automatic-press operators for athletic and contract printers, specialty-ink experts, and industrial screen printers (electronics, glass, signage) are still in demand. The vanishing living is the generalist manual shop competing on ordinary t-shirts against automated digital farms with no setup costs.

What's replacing screen printers — robots or something else?

Mostly something else: a different printing technology. DTG and DTF eliminated the screens, the setup labor, and therefore the jobs, rather than automating them. Within traditional shops, computer-to-screen imaging and auto-registration presses also cut labor per job.
