One of the safest hands-on trades, yes. The work happens in unstructured, cramped, every-house-is-different environments that robotics can't touch economically. The caveat: AI is changing the business side — diagnosis apps, automated dispatch, smart leak prevention — so the winners will be plumbers who use those tools rather than compete against them.

Add smart-water and heat-pump water heater expertise, and push maintenance contracts. The wrench skills keep their value; the differentiator is the operation wrapped around them.
