Is commercial diving still worth training for?

Use the overlap. Dive experience makes you a better ROV pilot, dive supervisor, or subsea inspection engineer — employers actively prefer it. Pick up NDT and inspection certifications, learn ROV systems on mixed crews, and aim for roles that direct underwater work rather than perform it. The paycheck stays subsea; the decompression schedule disappears.
